A word from Tone Cluster's President

Welcome to Tone Cluster’s 20thAnniversary Season!

Tone Cluster is entering its twenties as a well-rounded, socially-engaged, and musically-accomplished choir, brimming with vitality and creative energy.  It’s a great stage of life for us!

In honour of our big anniversary, the choir has planned an exciting and ambitious year.  Highlights will include releasing a new collection of recordings, commissioning a new piece by a well-known Canadian composer, and commemorating 20 years of music-making with favourite songs and guests from our colourful history.

Our first featured concert will be on November 24, 2013 as we partner with local choirs to celebrate Peace. After commemorating World AIDS Day, and our traditional carol singing in the Byward Market in December, preparations will be well underway for our 20th anniversary concert.  Fabulous Twenty, taking place on February 9, 2014, will feature alumni musicians and favourite pieces from our 20-year journey.  On April 26, 2014, in our second “Words” concert, Tone Cluster will partner with youth from the Ottawa/Gatineau region to deliver a powerful message of support and inclusiveness.

To top it off, we will be co-hosting our sisters and brothers from across Canada for the Unison Festival Unisson LGBT Choral Festival in from May 16-19, 2014.  The much-loved "Show Tune Showdown", where 3 musical theatre teams compete for points awarded by our 3 celebrity judges will be included in the festival on the evening of May 17, 2014.

Tone Cluster can always make room for more people with musical talents; we would love to have you audition to join us for this very special 20th season… and beyond.

Our success depends on your support, and the best way to do that is to come to our concerts!  In addition you can also join us at local community events, make a highly-appreciated tax-deductible donation, or purchase Tone Cluster merchandise.

On behalf of the choir, we hope to see you at our concerts and to chat at our post-concert receptions!

Andrew Sacret
